Through the work of our more than 150 employees, the HKPR District Health Unit provides a variety of programs and services to the more than 170,000 residents of Northumberland and Haliburton counties and the City of Kawartha Lakes. We employ a variety of professionals, including public health nurses, health promoters, public health inspectors and dietitians, who work together with our communities to help prevent illness, protect against disease and promote healthy lifestyles.

The HKPR District Health Unit covers one of the largest geographic areas in Southern Ontario and serves close to 170,000 residents of Haliburton County, Northumberland County and the City of Kawartha Lakes.
