Food Security

Food security is often defined as having access to safe, nutritious foods that allow people to maintain a healthy and active life.

Research has shown that issues such as whether households get enough food, how it is distributed within the household and whether that food fulfils the nutrition needs of all members of the household are clearly linked to health.

To learn more about food security, contact the Health Unit toll-free at 1-866-888-4577 to speak to a Registered Dietitian. You can also click below on the specific resources for your community.
