Immunization

Immunization protects people of all ages from diseases.

Vaccines Available to All Adults

Every 10 Years

Diphtheria, tetanus (two in one vaccine) 3

 65 Years Old

Pneumococcal polysaccharide 4


 Every Fall

 Influenza 2

 Catchup

 Inactivated poliovirus 5                                                   

2 Influenza vaccine is recommended for individuals six months of age and older.

3 Adults are eligible for a one-time dose of pertussis vaccine, available with their next diphtheria, tetanus booster

4 Individuals younger than 65 years of age may be eligible for vaccine (see section on additional vaccine eligibility)

5 People who are not immunized and may be exposed to imported wild polio cases, and non-immunized health care workers, should receive two doses (four to eight weeks apart) and a third dose six to 12 months later
