Are you At Risk for Developing TB?

There are a number of risk factors for developing TB, including:

  • HIV/AIDS

  • smoker/alcohol misuse

  • recent TB infection (less than two years)

  • under the age of five years

  • medications that weakens the immune system

  • working or living in long-term care or correctional facility

  • homelessness

  • renal failure/dialysis

  • diabetes

  • transplant patient

  • country of origin

  • Aboriginal
