Nutrition - Months 7 and 8

Remember the golden rule of feeding: The parent/caregiver will decide what, where, and when to feed their child; the child will decide if he will eat and how much.

  • Continue to breastfeed or offer breast milk

  • Eating and motor skills are progressing.

  • Babies can choke easily. Always stay with your child while he is eating. Do not give your child foods that are hard, small and round like nuts, popcorn, whole grapes or candies/gum.

Breastfeeding

  • Breast milk changes to meet your baby's needs.

  • Breastfeeding helps your baby's jaw and teeth develop, which will help later with speech and language development

  • Breastfeeding also helps brain and eye development
