Each summer, the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit does weekly testing of area beaches to ensure the water is safe for swimming.

From June to August, weekly sampling results for beaches in Northumberland County, Haliburton County and the City of Kawartha Lakes will be listed on this site. Details about why beaches become contaminated and the process to post them as unsafe are also provided on the menu at right.

Please note: sample results reflect the water quality only at the time of sampling. The water samples can take between two to three days to process and results are therefore not displayed in real time. Changes in water quality can occur very rapidly and frequently. The sampling results provided are for informational purposes only.
