Beach Postings

Looking to use local beaches in the area?

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit does regular testing of area beaches to ensure they are safe for swimming. Beach water quality monitoring begins in June and continues to the end of August.

During the summer months, weekly sampling results for beaches in Northumberland County, Haliburton County and the City of Kawartha Lakes will be listed at right. Details about why beaches become contaminated and the process to post them as unsafe are also provided at right.

Please note: sample results reflect the water quality only at the time of sampling. The water samples can take between two to three days to process and results are therefore not displayed in real time. Changes in water quality can occur very rapidly and frequently. The sampling results provided are for informational purposes only.
