Making sure the food you eat is safe is one of the best ways to protect your health and the health of your family.
The HKPR District Health Unit helps protect your health by inspecting food establishments to ensure safe food protocols are being met. Under provincial legislation, the Health Unit protects the community by conducting routine inspections of establishments where food is stored, manufactured, prepared, transported or served to the public.
The Health Unit also provides training to people working to prepare food and will follow up complaints from the community about poor food handling practices.
To learn more about the inspection of food service providers in the area or to access previous inspection reports, contact the Health Unit toll-free at 1-866-888-4577 and speak with a Public Health Inspector.
