- Upcoming Easter Long Weekend Brings Changes in Office Hours, Well Water Drop-Off Times -

Private well owners who want to have their water tested this week should take note that the upcoming Easter weekend will affect drop-off times at local Health Unit offices.

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit reminds local residents that well water samples will only be accepted this week as follows:

• Up until 3 pm on Tuesday (March 22) in the Health Unit’s Brighton location (35 Alice St.)

• Up until 4:30 pm on Tuesday (March 22) in the Health Unit’s Haliburton location (191 Highland St., Unit 301).

• Up until 10:30 am on Wednesday (March 23) in the Health Unit’s Port Hope location (200 Rose Glen Rd.).

• Up until 11:45 am on Wednesday (March 23) in the Health Unit’s Lindsay location (108 Angeline St. S.).

People are asked not to submit well water samples in the after-hours drop boxes at each office past these times. The samples cannot be sent in time for testing due to the Easter holiday hours at the provincial lab in Peterborough.

Regular well-water drop-off times will resume on March 29.

Local residents are also reminded that the Health Unit offices in Port Hope, Brighton, Lindsay and Haliburton will be closed on Good Friday (March 25) and Easter Monday (March 28). Regular office hours will resume on March 29.
People can still access information about Health Unit programs and services any time online at www.hkpr.on.ca.
