Health Unit Terminates Extended Heat Warning for Area

With this week’s hot, humid weather ending, the local Health Unit today terminated the Extended Heat Warning that was issued to Northumberland County, City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County earlier this week.

The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit issued the termination on Friday, July 15, and it is based on the Environment Canada and Climate Change forecast.

An Extended Heat Warning is terminated when the maximum daytime temperature is expected to be less than 31°C and the night time temperature is less than 20°C or the Humidex is less than 40°C.
