The Board of Health for the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit ratified an amended collective agreement with its ONA members earlier this week.

The new four-year collective agreement with the Ontario Nurses Association is effective from January 1, 2016 and includes:

• some improvements in extended health care and time off benefits

• inclusion of Remembrance Day as a paid holiday

As well, the agreement clarifies a number of other provisions.

“We are pleased with the agreement reached by management and ONA,” said Mark Lovshin, Chair of HKPR Board of Health.

Dr. Lynn Noseworthy, Medical Officer of Health for the HKPR District Health Unit added that she is pleased that the new agreement will provide labour stability at the Health Unit for the next four years.
