According to event organizers, Reaching New Heights is an appropriate name for the workshop. By sharing his experiences climbing the world’s tallest mountain, Mallory will help event participants conquer their own Everest and develop skills that are critical for business success. Specifically, Mallory will focus on professional development and management skills in strategic planning, effective communication, risk management, supporting positive mental health, and creating healthy and effective team dynamics.

“When I first heard Alan Mallory speak, I knew immediately that I wanted him to come to Cobourg to share his experiences,” says Cathy Cavanagh, a member of the Workplace Wellness in Northumberland (WWIN) committee. “Alan is a dynamic, engaging speaker who keeps his audience members on the edge of their seats. Alan’s experiences will give people the opportunity to use his knowledge and insight to improve the way they deal with their own challenges. He will teach participants how to conquer their own Everest.”

WWIN consists of representatives from small, medium, and large-sized workplaces who are interested in promoting workplace health activities in the area. WWIN is teaming up with Safe Communities Northumberland to organize the Reaching New Heights event.

“We’re excited to team up with WWIN to bring a vibrant and respected speaker like Alan Mallory to Cobourg,” says Joanne Brewster, a Member of Safe Communities Northumberland. “Reaching new heights in workplace health is the goal of this event. It also fits in perfectly with Safe Communities’ mandate to make Northumberland the safest and healthiest place to live, learn, work and play.”
