Food Safety
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit is legislated to deliver and enforce the Food Safety Program under Ontario's Health Protection and Promotion Act (R.R.O. 1990) Regulation 562 by inspecting food establishments to ensure program standards have been met.
Food Establishment Inspections:

Determine the risk (high, medium, or low) of all food establishments where food is stored, manufactured, prepared, transported or served to the public.

Public Health Inspectors protect the community by conducting routine, as well as complaint food premise inspections.

Public Health Inspectors inspect all food premises according to a schedule based on risk status of the food premise.
