Surveys

The Health Unit relies on a variety of information sources to help plan programs, services and events to meet the needs of area residents.

Rapid Risk Factor Surveillance System (RRFSS)

The Health Unit participates in a monthly telephone survey that helps determine the health attitudes and behaviours of area residents.

Ontario Student Drug Use and Health Survey (OSDUHS)

Local results are now available from the OSDUHS (2009), a population survey of Ontario students in Grades 7-12 conducted by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. The results for this area look at a number of self-reported health behaviours and issues facing youth, including tobacco and alcohol use, daily physical activity, self-esteem, bullying and much more.

For more information on RRFSS or the collection of other health information, contact the Health Unit's Epidemiologist toll-free at 1-866-888-4577.
