The goal of the Needle Exchange program (NEP) is to help reduce the harms associated with substance use. Needle exchange sites provide a safe, anonymous environment to receive new drug use equipment and safely dispose of used equipment. These sites offer sterile injection and inhalation materials.

Needle exchange sites have:

  • New equipment – needles, pipes, spoons, ties, filters, swabs, water and Vitamin C
  • Testing information on HIV, Hep C, sexually transmitted infections (STI’s), safer sex, pregnancy, and more
  • Information on other resources and community agencies
  • Free condoms, lube and dental dams

IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the Provincial State of Emergency, Health Unit offices are temporarily closed to the public. To access supplies, lease ring or knock at the office door when you come to pick up and the order will be brought to the door for you.
