Canada has seen substantially elevated numbers of opioid-related deaths since surveillance began in 2016.Our Opioid Overdose Report provides local opioid overdose information and is based on data provided by police services, paramedic services, ACES, Ministry of Health, and Public Health Ontario. The report provides localized overdose activity including monthly number of suspected and confirmed overdose related emergency department visits, number of unintentional deaths and type of opioids involved, historical data and the incidence rate of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome.
