Your Voice Matters: Participate in the 2025 Health Survey
The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR District Health Unit) and Peterborough Public Health (PPH) is participating in the Rapid Risk Factor Surveillance System (RRFSS) telephone survey led in partnership with the Institute for Social Research (ISR) at York University.
As part of this initiative, residents aged 18 and older living in Haliburton County, the City of Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland County, or in Peterborough County may receive a phone call—either on a landline or cell phone—inviting them to take part in the survey.
The purpose of this survey is to gather data on local health behaviours, attitudes, and emerging issues that impact public health. Topics covered include:
-
General and mental health
-
Smoking and alcohol use
-
Flu vaccination
-
Awareness of public health information
-
Lyme disease prevention
-
Demographic information (e.g., age, household size, location)
Participation is completely voluntary, and all responses are kept strictly confidential. If you choose to participate, you can skip any questions or end the call at any time.
Phone calls will continue throughout 2025 until enough responses are collected.
Please note: The caller ID may display as “ISR” or “Institute for Social Research,” depending on your phone provider. While some phones may mark the call as spam, these are legitimate calls being made on behalf of the Health Unit.
Contact: We thank all those who choose to take part—your input helps us make informed decisions to improve public health in our communities. For more information, please give us a call 1-866-888-4577 or email: info@hkpr.on.ca.
