    April 28, 2025 – The Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR District Health Unit) invites you to focus on your mental health this Mental Health Week from May 5-11, 2025.  

  • Safe Disposal, Safer Communities; Health Unit Aims to Strengthen Sharps Disposal

    April 28, 2025 – The HKPR District Health Unit, supported by PARN, has launched a community-wide awareness campaign aimed at promoting the safe disposal of harm reduction sharps. These include needles, glass bowl pipes and other items that may become harmful when broken or discarded improperly.

    Nurse Practitioner, as a member of the Health Protection Division, the Nurse Practitioner is accountable to Health Protection Management for the implementation of the assigned Requirements of the Infectious and Communicable Disease Prevention and Control Program Standards of the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) 2018 and relevant protocols, specifically related to sexual health and bloodborne infections.

    April 24, 2025 – The HKPR District Health Unit is asking for the public’s assistance in locating an individual who may have been exposed to rabies on Friday, March 14th in the Lindsay region.
